Our History

Over sixty years ago Henry J. Schubert bought a 120 acre dairy farm in the Middle Valley section of Long Valley on a great bend of the South Branch of the Raritan River. The farm has gone from being a dairy farm, to a produce farm, and is now the home of Orion Clydesdales. Orion Clydesdales has become one of the largest breeding and training facilities of Clydesdale horses on the East Coast.

Our Clydesdale Farm

Willow Grove Farm is owned and operated by Heidi Schubert Ort and Win Lake, and is home to over thirty of their Clydesdale horses. Collectively Heidi and Win have over fifty years of experience covering many breeds and disciplines. Their love of the Clydesdale breed and hard work have made it possible for anyone to come and enjoy these wonderful horses for themselves. Whether you are interested in riding one of their ‘gentle giants’ on a trail ride, taking a relaxing wagon ride through the country side, or making a special occasion memorable, Willow Grove Farm has the horse power you’re looking for!
