Over sixty years ago Henry J. Schubert bought a 120 acre dairy farm in the Middle Valley section of Long Valley on a great bend of the South Branch of the Raritan River. The farm has gone from being a dairy farm, to a produce farm, and is now the home of Orion Clydesdales, run by Heidi Schubert Ort the third generation of Schubert’s to run the farm. Heidi and her partner Win Lake have over 50 years of experience with horses covering many breeds and disciplines. Collectively, Win and Heidi now have a herd of Clydesdales consisting of almost 30 head of horses. You know what they say “horses are like potato chips, you can’t have just one!” Orion Clydesdales has become one of the largest breeding and training facilities of Clydesdale horses on the East Coast.
